To Celebrate Our 10th Year We Made This NEW WEBSITE!
Any one of our 47+ costumes and characters can be scheduled for any of our most popular activities or ask Kris to customize a creative plan! Here’s a little secret: We can all do everything because we have to be able to: Kris only keeps about 9 staff at a time!
We are unique in that we DO NOT CHARGE by the child or by the activity. We’re only paid for our time. We do as many activities as we can for your unlimited number of kids! We face painted hundreds of adult fans of Mexico’s International Football Team at Candlestick Park. After corporate events like that, kids are easy.
Inviting lots of kids? We give huge discounts if you hire two of us! We arrive at the same time OR having one arrive early and the 2nd arrive bit later is a clever way to keep the kids happy longer! When the first performer is finished, the second still has time! With two performers face paint and balloons go twice as fast and you have time for ideas like doing both the Magic and Puppets, individual pictures with each child or have us stay for the photos at the cake and the Happy Birthday song!

A typical party has time for 3 activities.

If it works for your party...
We like to start with a show.

Our owner and founder Kris has performed for 2,000 parties herself and has a academic background in child development. She suggests starting with the Magic Show or Puppet Story because it builds rapport with the kids fast! To kids, we look fancy and fun, but ultimately, we’re still a new person. Our funny, interactive shows build trust fast. Of course it’s up to you, that’s just our usual plan. If you're confused on choosing activities, just contact us. When the 15-20 minute show ends you’ll see a huge rush to hug us. Mission accomplished.

Magic Show
Our Magic Show is for kids 3.5 years and up and lasts about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes parent envision fire and boring card tricks, no way.
The show is kid-oriented with only things they recognize. Click here for a video of the shows. Sorry you won’t be able to hear some parts, we had to protect our script which was getting swiped left and right. Maybe that’s a good sign! We can tell you this: our Magic Show helped us earn those 3 Parent Awards. Kris is a member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and she wrote it strategically to reach a huge age range of kids and still be funny for the adults to watch since the kids say such cute things.
Magic is the favorite for 1st birthdays where there are usually mixed aged cousins since babies don’t yet have the homogenous-aged little guests you’ll have more often when kids are turning 3-8 years old.
We think our Magic Show gives a nice focus for the party and gives the birthday child attention, if they want it when we take the dreams and wishes from all of their friends and use them to make a magic birthday gift!

Interactive Puppet Story
|
Our puppet story is about 15-20 minutes of our visit. We love it for preschoolers, butKris has also performed it for up to 10 year olds. It is smartly written to naturally adjust to any developmental stages since we take so many suggestions from kids. This is not a talk-at-the-kids boring story. The kids drive the story's plot by giving input, making sounds and clapping.
The character, for example Snow White or a Clown or Ballerina Fairy - since those are our favorites to play, ha - tells about having brought a wonderful gift but embarrassingly lost it on the way to the party! The kids help her find it by meeting different animal puppets, giving input and making animal sounds the entire time.
“Wait! We’re at a river, it is so loud! Can you make this sound with me? Swoosh. Oh! Here is my friend the turtle! Can you pretend you’re a turtle popping in and out of your shell?” The kids mimic the turtle puppet, make sounds and get really into the show!
We won’t give away the ending, but in a fun twist the kids are victorious and Snow White (or whomever) gives the your child the gift they’ve been looking for!
You can click for a video of the shows.

Face Painting
 |
No matter who we’re playing we can all face paint things like Spiderman, dragons, princess crowns, butterflies. That means if we’re playing a princess the boys always love us too. Kids are kids. They care more about what you can do for them than how you’re dressed, especially the little guys. We've never seen a boy not want to play with us once they see us do Magic, offer Face Paint designs they want and everyone loves balloons swords! Parents ask every time, but boys not liking the princess is never an issue in reality. We promise.
Don’t underestimate face painting. Kids perceive it as their time to talk with the person they’ve been waiting to their whole lives to meet. We have our most candid precious conversations during face paint, “I love you Cinderella.” Or confessions from a child with an ambivalent little face, “I have a new baby sister Snow White.” “Really? I am so happy for you, I will tell Ariel too, she has lots of sisters. You seem like you’ll be a great big sister!”
More than one child has actually confided something real and difficult they’re facing as we paint their face. Kind words from a famous character go a long way in their hearts. Kris feels strongly about this. Kids perceive face paint time as more than getting their face painted, that’s when we get to talk.
If adults hover nearby you’ll hear great stuff. Real excerpt: “What should I paint?” “Egyptian Hieroglyphics.”
“Oh, wow, that's creative. Okay, wow.”
“Sleeping Beauty, you don’t know what those are because you are a cartoon. I will have to tell you.”

No matter who we’re playing we can all twist balloon shapes both boys and girls like. We make swords, airplanes, poodles and even tails the kids can wear to match if they’ve been face-painted as an animal like a tiger or kitty! Balloons are great because every developmental stage loves them. The solo 12-year-old boy cousin wants a balloon sword to defend himself, the teenage sister asks for a balloon flower or a grandmother will frequently say, “We didn’t have things like this when I was a kid.” We respond by making her a balloon flower and posing for a photo together! Get a picture of your mom with Snow White and a balloon flower - or Grandpa in a zany balloon hat with the birthday boy. Priceless.
By the way, this is a side note to adults, but a really big deal to kids: The birthday child is first for face paint and balloons. We get it. It’s important. Some kids will speak up and some won’t. It’s their day, we make sure.

Yes we bring 2-4 activities with us for your
party so you get to enjoy the party but on top of the party activities we bring we are awesome character actors.
That’s where we really shine. When you choose a character, we stay in character and we are that character for your party. Children’s little dreams are a big deal!
Here’s a prime example! In this photo you’ll see Magic Princess Bryce who is also a professional dance teacher for kids and Magic Princess Laynie who is an Acting major at UC Berkeley. We were leaving Fairyland where we also do parties and Kris said, “Sit on this fountain, let me take your picture.” Instead of calmly trying to be pretty, they were playing. Fairy Laynie is holding a magic stick that she’s trying to use to cast spells to stop her wings from being ticklish. Fairy Bryce is tickling her wing to tease her that her spell is not working! We behave like this even without the kids!
Ariel wanders to the food table and casually starts brushing her hair with a fork.
Cinderella asks the kids for advice about what they do when they lose a shoe.

Most families want a Show, Face Painting and Balloon Animals. This classic plan gives the kids a lot of choice. It works great for all genders and developmental stages. It integrates easily with all the other things you need to “get done” during the party (like feeding them and blowing out candles) and because balloons everywhere and painted faces sure make the place feel festive.
That said, we can also trade those activities for others.
In August 2010 we did our 14,000th party. There is almost nothing we won’t do! We’re the face painting fairies for an annual event where the Easter Bunny arrives by helicopter! For a corporate holiday party Kris drove a motorized ice chest for a grand entry as Santa’s Elf! Clearly, we’re open to new ideas.
Here are some activities specific characters can do. If you don’t see what you’re thinking of click here to ask if we’ll do whatever kinds of activities you have in mind.
